DP MP Jorida Tabaku has faced criticism on social media in a video where she expresses concern about Endri Shabani's candidacy for Ombudsman. Tabaku said:
"Of course you can take this candidacy of the People's Advocate. I don't believe that in another democratic country there would be a majority candidacy for the head of SPAK, a majority candidacy for the Constitutional Court, a majority candidacy for the People's Advocate. But is there a check and balance of powers? Is there a way for these institutions to continue and ensure their independence on the one hand and on the other hand to have reports that offer a certain professionalism?"
However, her statement was considered incoherent, as Tabaku was among the 34 DP deputies who signed Endri Shabani's candidacy for Ombudsman.
This contradiction did not escape commentators, who reacted harshly in the comments, writing:
• “Sign yourself, don't play games”
• “Leave it to yourself, don't act surprised”
• "You gave the signatures, how are you not a fish or a fish?"
• “Shame on you, DP”
• “Your firm is a total disappointment”
