In truth, the decision was not about his innocence or his moral standing in office, but about overturning the absurd decree of the President and the government that attempted to dismiss him in violation of the law.
But as a propaganda professional, Veliaj has turned this decision into a spectacle. From the fireworks near the prison at the moment the decision was given, to the bombastic media headlines that portrayed it as a "victory", to today's reactions on social media, everything has been used to build the narrative of the "winner".
In his Instagram post, where he reacted for the first time after the Constitutional Court's decision, there was no shortage of supportive comments from several well-known showbiz names. Rapper Noizy writes "Let's gooo," or Ermal Mamaqi puts a heart emoji, while others affectionately call him "Lali" with support emojis.
Blinded by the privileges and favors that Veliaj has not spared them, these VIPs seem to not want to know that this is a mayor accused of corruption and abuse of citizens' taxes.
Meanwhile, Veliaj, instead of focusing on the accusations he must answer for, does not stray from the path he knows best, propaganda. Justice has not yet been finally pronounced for him, and if the accusations against him are proven, they could bring about his political end. Then even the VIPs who today stand ready to comment on every post that Veliaj's propaganda asks for comments on will likely forget him forever.
