SPAK is investigating all companies that have won road tenders, which are suspected of being predetermined by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy, Belinda Balluku. Special prosecutors have seized documents from all companies and are verifying all tenders, purchase books or other documents related to their activity.
The SPAK is currently investigating Ilir Shfufi's Nova Construction company, businessman Rrok Gjoka's Gjoka company, Arber Abazi's Alko Impex company, the nephew of former socialist MP Sadri Abazi, Pëllumb Salillari's Salillari company, Ramë Geci's Geci company, Paqësor Buzi's company, as well as Bashkim Ulaj's Gener 2 company, etc. In parallel, SPAK is verifying the assets of Balluku and other individuals. Belinda Balluku is accused of abuses with tenders worth millions of euros. SPAK has requested permission from the Parliament to arrest Balluku and the Mandates and Immunities Council is expected to meet to review this request on February 23.
