The Democratic Party's rhetoric about the electoral massacre has reached its peak, as this political force prepares to enter the next elections for the municipality of Tirana. But as in any other case, its leader Sali Berisha invents an excuse when faced with questions that highlight his double standard.
In a statement to the media today outside the parliament hall, the leader of the democrats was asked why the DP, on the one hand, accuses Rama of stealing the elections and on the other hand, the opposition is once again entering the race with him. And believe it or not, Berisha said that in order for the DP to boycott the elections, it must organize guerrilla protests, but the party he leads is not one of these movements.
"There are two tactics, two positions. There is the boycott position and that is it, it can be used, but it requires preparing guerrilla movements, others, others, which we are not. We are not a party of guerrilla movements," Berisha said.
Even Berisha himself does not believe this statement. But as a reminder, we bring you his last guerrilla movement, which was in 2022, when he gathered his supporters to beat up the group that had expelled him from the party.
However, his statement is also welcome when considering the political situation in which the DP finds itself. Since in addition to not protesting or boycotting, the DP does not even have the name of a candidate for the Tirana municipality. Berisha was asked again by journalists about a name opposite Ogerta Manastirliu, he said that the DP has not one, but several candidates, but did not give any names.
