VNA has decided not to report any political reactions to the murder of Judge Astrit Kalaja. The left and the right, government and opposition, share a culture of attacking prosecutors and judges who do not follow their policies.
Judges and prosecutors are not angels and of course they also make mistakes in their daily work. But the attacks on them, inspired by politics, are in the vast majority of cases a guarantee for crime and not only to attack them physically. Today's event is definitely the most serious in recent years and the responsibility for it falls first on the author of the event. But the crocodile tears of Albanian politics cannot hide the responsibility of politics, which has never stopped attacking, cursing and anathematizing prosecutors and the court that have broken the law.
Therefore, along with condolences to the family of Astrit Kalasa, it would be good for politics to remain silent and point the finger at itself — as the only one responsible for the current situation of the country's security, the decline of justice into self-justification, and to stop once and for all the aggressive language and attacks on justice institutions, prosecutors, and judges.
