After leaving SPAK, Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha returned to the much-discussed topic of the Aruba meeting, making a statement that for the first time also includes government representatives at this event.
In a message to citizens, Berisha accused SPAK leader Altin Dumani of keeping the Aruba meeting file under wraps. He said that prosecutors led by Altin Dumani and in collaboration with McGonigal have tried to hide one of the biggest scandals of the Albanian government, while according to him, information about the meetings was revealed through Italian prosecutors and Belgian courts.
“Of course, this is a pawn of the criminal money that he laundered and transformed into his own property and he does not justify it,” Berisha declared, implying that the direct beneficiaries are officials connected to the government. However, although he has frequently mentioned the “Aruba meeting” in recent days, Berisha has not yet provided any concrete information about who the government officials participating in it may have been.
