Renowned lawyer Gylsen Zhllima has announced his candidacy for the position of mayor of Tirana in the by-elections to be held on November 9. He made this announcement through a post on social networks, also presenting his slogan "Tirana, our vision", with which he will seek the trust of the citizens of the capital.
The partial elections for the Municipality of Tirana will take place on the same day in the country's six municipalities. For Tirana, three candidacies have been formalized so far: Ogerta Manastirliu from the Socialist Party, Arlind Qori from the Together Movement, and actor Florjan Binaj, who is running as an independent and aims to receive the support of citizens from both political camps, left and right.
There is still no confirmed candidate from the opposition. A day earlier, Sali Berisha declared that he will give two days to independent candidates to express themselves and then they will announce which of them they will support. On the list of names that have expressed interest in running for the opposition are Ermal Hasimja, Florian Haçkaj and Agron Haxhimali.
