Prime Minister Edi Rama, although he has begun work to end Erion Veliaj's political career even without the latter's wishes, is once again complaining about the mayor. In the "Flasim" podcast, where he invited the candidate who is expected to replace Veliaj, Rama did not spare "compassion" for the mayor, saying that they took him without a trial, but that according to him, Tirana cannot remain without a mayor.
"The mayor was removed from office without trial and taken into custody, where he has been held for 8 months, through a process with questionable standards. But in the meantime, Tirana cannot remain in suspense," Rama declared.
In fact, this is the next hypocrisy to not show the public the underground clash between him and Veliaj. The Prime Minister with the force of power to take away the last chair from the mayor, while the latter is opposing all the decisions in the Constitutional Court.
Rama also defended the decree of President Bajram Begaj, announcing early elections in Tirana. He responded to criticism of Begaj by saying that no one understands the constitution as well as Ilir Rusmal, who is currently an advisor to the president.
"While those who discuss the legitimacy of the president's decree for elections are not to blame, they have neither the education, nor the intellectual independence, nor the knowledge about the constitution of Ilir Rusmal, the president's legal advisor and the DP's Minister of Justice," Rama said.
Even for the sake of the decree that went according to the government's request, Rama continued to praise Rusmajli, saying that "the former DP minister and former deputy prime minister of Berisha, for the sake of his integrity, resigned and refused to become a party to corruption," Rama said.
