At Sali Berisha's podium, in the Porcelani area of Tirana, during a conversation with citizens, a lady took the microphone and shared her concerns as a dialysis patient. With a voice muffled by illness, she spoke about the miserable conditions in which she receives her treatment, in the basements of the American Hospital, as well as the lack of care during this delicate process.
From the opposition leader, whom she had come to support even though she was ill, the lady expected at least a kind word, or a promise that the Democratic Party would take action regarding the scandalous dialysis concession won by the American Hospital and Klodian Allajbeu.
But Sali Berisha ignored the question. While Floriana, with the idiocy that seems to accompany her in every cell of her being, diverted the microphone without a single hint of human sensitivity to another participant in the meeting.
Sali Berisha, even as a doctor, did not take into consideration the concerns of a member of the Democratic Party who, on a cold winter day, had come to support him at a meeting in the Porcelani area. The same ignorant attitude was maintained by the other doctor on the podium, Ilir Alimehmeti.
The meeting continued as if nothing had happened, without any attention to the lady who had come to find comfort and a little hope in an opposition that, even in a modest meeting in an area of Tirana, clearly showed that its interest is not in the people's problems, but in its own chairs.
Otherwise, the lack of sensitivity to health problems has no other name.
