The Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs continues with a not at all transparent practice of opening tenders for the purchase of international airline tickets, which in most cases end up being canceled, while the cases that are brought to a conclusion are accompanied by unjustifiable prices for a public institution.
From the data published on the official procurement portal, it turns out that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regularly opens competitions for plane tickets to various destinations, often for only one or two people, but a significant number of them end up with the status "Cancelled". This practice raises serious questions about planning, real needs and the way public funds are managed.

Even in cases where the procedures go to the end, the costs are strange and extremely high. In a procedure published on November 21, 2025, the Ministry purchased a Tirana - Belgrade plane ticket for 88,000 lekë, a considerable amount considering that it is a short trip and only for a single person.

This tendering model, where procedures are opened for simple travel tickets, canceled without explanation, and then purchases are made at inflated prices, raises serious doubts about a lack of transparency and abuse of public money.
At a time when public administration is claimed to be modernizing and rationalizing spending, such practices not only create unnecessary costs, but also damage public trust in the way state finances are managed.
This is a case that requires full transparency and an official response from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, to explain the reasons for these consecutive cancellations and the high prices of travel tickets.
