
The Special Court announces the verdict for some of the defendants in the Metamorfosis case, who were indicted after the decryption of communications on the encrypted SKY EÇ application. To reach the verdict, the panel of judges composed of Etleva Deda, Flora Hajredini and Irena Gjoka spent more than 4 hours in the consulting room.
Behar Brajovic (Bajri) was sentenced to 13 years in prison, but due to the shortened trial he will serve 8.8 years in a high-security prison.
Edmond Preka was sentenced to 10 years in prison and will serve 7 of those years.
Astmer Bilali, finally sentenced to 5.8 years in prison. He is considered the armed wing of the Bajri criminal clan.
They were found guilty of providing conditions to kill Kleant Musabelliu, as well as the crime of providing conditions to kill Dorian Duli, Genc Tafili and their sworn opponent Ibrahim Lici, crimes committed within the framework of the criminal group.
Xhevahir Lita, former head of the Kukes prosecution, was convicted of charges of "disclosure of secret acts" and "passive corruption" and sentenced to 3 years and 4 months in prison. His security measure was terminated after he served the time in pre-trial detention.
Oltion Bistri was acquitted of corruption and money laundering charges, but convicted of revealing secret acts. He was sentenced to 2 years in prison and the measure was suspended after he served his sentence. Seizure of Bistri's assets was lifted.
For Ardit Hasanbegaj and businessman Pëllumb Gjoka, even though they were tried in the same process, the court will announce the verdict on December 2nd after they did not present their defense, a practice that is being introduced for the first time in the Special Court. Some of the members of the Metamorfoz group are currently being tried in a regular process for serious charges, such as murder and criminal group.
