A day after the reported clash at the meeting of the Socialist Party of Albania parliamentary group, Elisa Spiropali appeared on social media with a message that seems more like a political response than a weekend greeting.
"Have a beautiful Sunday. Keep your face from the light and the shadows will remain behind," Spiropali wrote, in a post that many read as an indirect reaction to yesterday's tensions at the parliamentary group meeting.
In Albanian politics, where messages are often conveyed without being directly said, her sentence sounds like an attempt to show that the light is still there — even when the shadow of an internal feud has just passed over the parliamentary group hall.
Of course, in a party where hierarchy also determines the intensity of the "light", it remains to be seen who controls the lamp and who remains in the shadows.
