While the protests he is organizing are not yielding any concrete results, as Rama and the SP not only do not seem to be in danger in their governance, but on the contrary are getting ready for the next elections by promising even deeper victories, Sali Berisha seems to have decided to reconsider the meaning of the term "last kilometer".
During a conversation with citizens on social media, the leader of the DP specifically focused on this expression to clarify what he had meant. And from the lengthy explanation, it was understood that the “last kilometer” is not so much related to Rama’s overthrow from power, but rather to the final takeover of the Democratic Party by Lulzim Basha, who, according to him, had oriented it towards Rama.
" I would like to make a clarification regarding my expression 'the last kilometer'. What was and is the meaning of this phrase, or this concept. The meaning is as follows: We as the opposition, in 2021, were predicted by Lulzim Brava and not only by him, but also by others, to be a sister of the SP in government. This is the truth. I have long made this proposal public, which would be the greatest drama for this country.
After this was not achieved, a series of other measures were taken by Edi Rama, a fierce enemy of pluralism and democracy in Albania, but also by the international mafia of George Soros, a fierce enemy of Albanian democracy and the Albanian nation, which had in the DP an implacable opponent of its anti-Albanian projects.
So, this was a battle that we had to fight and we did it. In this battle, as you know, the party's logo and flag were taken, its symbols were taken by the Puthadori judges, enemies of pluralism, under the direct influence of Rama and the Sorosian factors in the administration of President Joe Biden. But again, we succeeded. With our actions, we managed to bring them back.
We still had miles to go, because unfortunately, in 2021, when the elections turned out to be a farce, as I said the next day in my article 'The vote died before entering the box' — the former mayor, instead of protecting the citizens' vote, attacked Sali Berisha together with Edi Rama and ran towards a coalition with the latter , "said Berisha.
So, put simply, Democrats must understand that the "last mile" is not to remove the government from power, but to finally remove Lulzim Basha and Edi Rama from the Democratic Party.
The explanation of the DP leader is both laughable and tearful. Berisha, who once beat up the Democrats who tried to take over the party, and who has now officially taken over its leadership, along with its seal and logo, for several years, it turns out that he still has a "last mile" to go to completely take it over.
A battle with windmills, in the most direct sense of the word, because not only is the party more in his hands today than ever, but also his former appointee, Lulzim Basha, has disappeared from the political scene, likely enjoying life somewhere in the neighborhoods of the Netherlands.
What is clearly understood from this explanation is that the action launched with the "last mile" to overthrow the government seems to have been prolonged beyond any expectation and is failing to mobilize even the most ardent militants. Therefore, a reformulation of the concept seemed necessary, at least until a new term is invented to keep alive the hopes of the democrats, who, with Berisha at the helm, seem to still have many kilometers of opposition ahead.
