Journalist Klodiana Lala has made a strong statement regarding the situation of the former mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, who is currently in prison.
According to Lala, despite the delicate position he is in, Veliaj will not speak before the courts, even though he possesses important information that, according to her, could shake the foundations of the government.
"Erion Veliaj will never speak. Because Veliaj was the second most powerful man in Albania. He can destroy the government, because he has a lot of information due to his long power and because he led the largest municipality in the country.
But Veliaj is not in a position to speak. He should have spoken in front of SPAK prosecutors. Whom he considered colleagues when he was out, when he could have made an agreement to perhaps receive the status of a repentant. But he is now in other positions," said Lala.
