Unlike Gazment Bardhi, who relied on the Assembly's regulations to justify the DP's absence from the vote on the resolution on Iran, Ivi Kaso has been more direct in his stance.
In an interview with Euronews Albania, Kaso said that the resolution was not drafted according to the needs of the country's foreign policy and that the way it is being passed is problematic. According to him, if Albania were to emerge as the second country in the world to take such a position on Iran after the US, this would deserve a serious debate and a regular parliamentary procedure.
He described the initiative as a "whim of Edi Rama to appear as a supporter of the US", emphasizing that the resolution was not filed as a government initiative nor was it previously discussed in the Assembly. For this reason, according to him, the opposition will not participate in a session that was called without a clear agenda.
