While criticizing the prime minister for clashing with internationals over the Balluku issue, DP leader Sali Berisha, in his statement to the media, continued his clash with EU Ambassador Silvio Gonzato.
Berisha accused Gonzato, saying that he behaves in Brussels as if he is Edi Rama's ambassador.
"No matter what we do, the European Union ambassador in Tirana, in Brussels, behaves absolutely as if he were Edi Rama's ambassador in Brussels," Berisha said.
The leader of the Democrat Party claims that the EU ambassador, speaking about the AKSH scandal in Brussels, stated that hostage-taking is not an Albanian culture. According to Berisha, this is an insult to Albanians and that hostage-taking was carried out at AKSH for the benefit of Rama's brother-in-law.
"Because declaring the AKSHI in Brussels a cultural problem of Albanians, as Mr. Gonzato has done, this is the worst service you do to Albanians, and I tell that gentleman that hostage-taking is not the culture of Albanians. Excellency, Albania has dozens of other state and non-state agencies. The problem is that Rama does not have another brother-in-law to deal with in the digital field except Armand Frangu, and precisely because Armand is there, Linda's brother-in-law, people are taken hostage there," he said.
Berisha continued with the accusations against Gonzato, saying that the latter stated in Brussels that the DP's agenda is MAGA. He said that this is another lie by the ambassador, since the Democrats' agenda is Albania's integration into the EU.
"His second big lie is about the DP in the International Committee: that the DP's agenda is MAGA. Our agenda, if it were MAGA, we wouldn't hide it. Our agenda is integration into the European Union," Berisha said.
This is not the only statement the DP leader has made against the EU ambassador in Tirana. Previously, Berisha has also clashed over the gender equality law.
