A day after the postponement of the meeting of the Mandates Council, the five members of the Democratic Party in this Council appeared before the media today to request the immediate convening of the next session.
The Secretary General of the DP, Gazment Bardhi, emphasized that this is the first time that a meeting of the Mandates Council has been postponed without setting a new date and called on Chairman Niko Peleshi to implement the law and regulations.
"There is an attempt to drag out the event. The Mandates Council has always met within 48 hours. Yesterday we received the full file from the Prosecution. Five times during the meeting, attempts were made to intimidate the prosecutors, but I want to appreciate their integrity," declared Bardhi.
He added that the DP has requested a meeting for Tuesday at 11:00, emphasizing the importance of hearing the arguments and defense of defendant Belinda Balluku.
"I call on the Speaker of the Assembly to implement the law and regulations, to call a meeting of the Council at the beginning of the week and so that the Prosecutor's Office can take further action," he stressed.
According to Bardhi, it was Prime Minister Rama himself who introduced Minister Balluku to the Turkish company, which then won the contract without procedures and in complete violation of the law.
"There is no Albanian who does not know that Belinda Balluku did not identify alone, without orders and without orders from Edi Rama, the Turkish company for the construction of the tunnel," he emphasized.
He concluded with a call to Prime Minister Edi Rama to abandon any attempt to obstruct justice.
