In the most difficult days for the Rama government, at a moment when SPAK investigations are increasingly affecting key government structures and figures, opposition leader Sali Berisha has once again chosen to direct his attack towards the head of the Special Prosecution Office, Altin Dumani.
From Monday's podium, in front of the Prime Minister's Office, and in front of a handful of supporters, Berisha publicly declared Dumani responsible for the manipulation and concealment of the AKSHI file.
"Do you know what happened? Altin Troplini forwarded his file to the Tirana Prosecutor's Office. Despite the fact that it was a macabre act, a crime, a kidnapping by four people. The trajectory was followed to the Qafë-Krraba tunnel, and beyond. The Tirana Prosecutor's Office did what they were told. They signed the non-initiation of investigations into the person.
"Look where we live and he doesn't appear in the file at all, because he knew everything, more than Gerondi. He was the deputy director of the AKSHI and he had memorized all the abuses of hundreds of millions of euros, from the most powerful family in the Balkans, maybe in Europe, the Rama family," Berisha declared.
According to the leader of the Democratic Party, the person mentioned was not included in the file, despite the role and knowledge he allegedly had regarding the institution's financial abuses.
In the same public appearance, Berisha also welcomed the protest of the citizens of Vlora, who have been facing a lack of drinking water for several days, describing their reaction as fair and reasonable.
At the end of his speech, the leader of the Democratic Party announced the closure of the protests for this year, stating that they will resume next year, without setting a specific date.
