Prime Minister Edi Rama has reacted to the situation in Vlora, where the city has been without drinking water for four days. In a Facebook post, Rama announced that new hydraulic parts for the ruptured pipe have been shipped from Istanbul and will arrive today.
While he blames the opposition for this situation, according to him, when he was in government 15 years ago, in 2009, he installed substandard plumbing parts.
"To Istanbul airport to arrive today within the day, new hydraulic parts to repair the serious defect in the Vlora water supply, where in 2009-2010, substandard hydraulic parts were installed, which could no longer hold the water pressure and as a result the pipeline exploded," Rama writes.
The Prime Minister further thanks the Waterworks employees who, according to him, are working tirelessly to fix the problem.
And to justify this scandalous situation, for which he blames his opponents even after 4 terms in government, Rama ends the post with another quote from his grandmother, that "the evil eye has finally broken out after all these good years for Vlora."
It is not known which good years the prime minister is referring to, as only a few months ago he ceremonially "resigned" the mayor of the municipality, Ermal Dredha, but in recent years Vlora has had water problems both in the sun and in the rain. In the sun due to a lack of water and in the rain when it flooded.
