Sali Berisha admitted today that the signing of the signatures for Endri Shabani by the DP deputies was a mistake. In today's press conference, he said that is why they were withdrawn: "I am not saying that it was good that the signatures were given, if it were not a mistake, we would not have withdrawn, the support would not have been withdrawn. If it were not a mistake to sign, the support would not have been withdrawn. I want to accept a process, but this came entirely from a position of the Socialist Party which had the intention of joining the opposition it wanted. With the opposition it wants, we will never be."
The Democratic Party has decided to boycott the voting process for the People's Advocate in the session scheduled for tomorrow. The Socialists seem clear in their support for the candidate Endri Shabani, who was actually proposed with the votes of the Democratic Party deputies, where the names of Jorida Tabaku, Ina Zhupa, Agron Gjekmarkaj, etc. stand out. Meanwhile, along with Endri Shabani, the opposition's list of candidates also includes the names of:
6 candidacies for Ombudsman
Adriana Kalaja – 44 firms
Aranita Brahaj – 35 firms
Besim Ndregjoni – 34 firms
Endrit Shabani – 35 firms
Skënder Haluci – 30 firms
Tartar Bazaj – 28 firms
Sali Berisha's preferred candidate, Jola Hysaj, was disqualified because she received only 27 out of 28 votes to nominate her. The procedure began with problems when, in order to nominate candidates, MPs were asked to sign for more than one candidate. This caused problems that later reflected in a mess that could not be resolved.
