The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, at the parliamentary group meeting again criticized the state budget for 2026, saying that it is a pyramid scheme of fraud that is based on stealing from Albanian citizens.
He said that the DP will file an amendment for the living wage and that this will be the next battle of the Democrats in parliament.
"This budget is a pyramid of fraud, theft against Albanian citizens. The latest INSTAT data show the devastating effect of drug cartels on the country's economic growth. In these data, economic growth for the first time after 32 years of growing Albanian economy has a minority contribution. Establishing the living wage will be our battle in parliament. We have made many amendments, but the most important amendment is establishing the living wage," Berisha said.
The leader of the Democratic Party (DP) reiterated once again that Prime Minister Edi Rama is putting pressure on the Constitutional Court regarding the Balluku case. He said that after the Foltores, the time has come for the opposition to organize strong protests, but did not give a date for such a protest.
"He takes the prime minister to the Constitutional Court, which never happens. And he comes out as a public deceiver and referred to the Venice Commission who knows how many times, at a time when this commission, in absolutely no single opinion, has stated that ministers cannot be suspended."
"Therefore, in an intensive dialogue with Albanians, we must prepare for the most powerful protests the country has ever known," said Berisha.
