The Secretary General of the Democratic Party reacted harshly today to Prime Minister Edi Rama, following the violence against protesters last night, using expired tear gas and pepper spray.
Among other things, Bardhi writes that in every country in Europe, a prime minister involved in scandals does not respond to citizens with violence, does not criminalize the opposition, and does not protect individuals implicated in corruption.
“Nowhere in Europe does the prime minister become an advocate for corruption, does not pre-determine tenders and does not appoint a coordinator between the government and organized crime,” it said in its response. The party emphasizes that the Director General of Police should not be appointed by structures related to the coordination of crime and that attacks on justice are attempts to protect the corruption of the prime minister and his associates.
The DP warns that "the time of the prime minister of corruption and drug cartels has expired," describing the violent reaction to the protests as typical of rotten regimes.
