The parents of a 10-year-old boy detained during the protest, along with the child himself, spoke exclusively to Euronews on Review with Greta Topjana. They were in front of Police Station No. 1, claiming that the minor was accompanied and raped for no reason.
According to the family, the child was not part of the protest, but was near the mosque, where he was washing his eyes from tear gas. They accuse plainclothes police officers of raping the minor.
The mother of the 10-year-old said: "He went to the bins to get some plastic and things and four civilians came and caught him at the mosque, when he was washing his face with water at the mosque. The boy told me that he didn't know why they beat him, what's wrong with me,' he said. 'You shot the police, they said.' What kind of state is this that beats my child for no reason, without any reason? I barely raise him, where with bread and without bread, they don't beat a child for no reason. He has a heart condition," she said.

The 10-year-old said: "I was at the mosque, I was unconscious. They took me, put me in handcuffs and beat me. I was washing my face from the gas. Five civilians came to me, put me in handcuffs, sat me down under the mosque, beat me and brought me here. I know what happens, they gave me some papers. Some deputies came and took me outside," the minor said./Euronews Albania.
