Taulant Balla has questioned the Constitutional Court's decision on the rules of procedure of the Assembly and the organization of permanent committees, openly expressing disagreement with the reasoning given by the court.
In a public reaction, he writes that he finds "no connection between the right of the Assembly to organize its work in permanent committees and today's decision of the Constitutional Court", adding that he awaits with "great curiosity" the full decision to understand the issue mentioned by the court on the "right of expression".
According to Balla, the deputies voted and clearly expressed their will with their votes, meaning that the process cannot be considered truncated in terms of parliamentary representation.
However, he emphasizes that the Albanian Parliament should continue working with the current division of committees, which — according to him — will be re-evaluated along with other amendments that the majority is expected to submit in the coming days.
Balla's stance opens a new institutional debate on the boundaries between the Assembly's autonomy to organize its internal work and the supervisory role of the Constitutional Court, at a time when relations between institutions are being tested again.
