The United States Embassy in Tirana has announced that, due to the delay in the approval of budget funds from Washington, its activity will be significantly reduced. The consequences mainly affect consular services and public communication with Albanian citizens.
In a statement posted on social media, the embassy explained that its Facebook account will no longer be updated regularly, except for urgent security information. This restriction will remain in effect until full restoration of normal operations.
However, for citizens who have applied or have scheduled services, the embassy assures that passport and transit visa processes in the US will continue, but "as possible," implying limitations in work capacity.
"For more information on our services and operational status, visit travel.state.gov," the embassy's official announcement states.
This situation comes as a result of political disagreements in the US, which have led to delays in the approval of the federal budget, also affecting the work of American diplomatic missions in various countries around the world.
