The Special Court communicated the security measure "prison arrest" to Soni alias Vilson Pepa, suspected of being part of the Çela-Çopja criminal clan. He is accused of cocaine trafficking and criminal group and was repatriated a few hours after his arrest in the Dominican Republic. Pepa is accused of trafficking 11 tons of cocaine.
MEDIA NOTICE 1.
The applicant, the Special Prosecution Office Against Corruption and Organized Crime, on 08.09.2025, submitted to the Court the request with the subject matter: "Interrogation and verification of the conditions and criteria for the implementation of the personal security measure, determined by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime against the person under investigation Soni Pepa alias Vilson Pepa".
2. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of Judge Erjon Çela, based on Articles 112, 228, 229, 230, 238 and 248 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with decision no. 90, dated 09.09.2025, decided:
1. Continuation of the implementation of the coercive personal security measure 'Arrest in prison' provided for by article 238 of the Criminal Procedure Code, determined by decision No. 82, dated 06.08.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime against the person under investigation: Soni Pepa alias Vilson Pepa as a suspect for committing the criminal offenses of "Drug trafficking" committed in the special form of cooperation, that of a criminal organization and "Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group", provided for by articles 283/a, 28/1, "Laundering of proceeds of crime" committed in the special form of cooperation, that of a criminal organization, provided for by article 287/1 letter "b" and 28/1 of the Criminal Code, "Criminal organization" in the form of participation, provided for by article 333, paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code, “Commitment of criminal offenses by a criminal organization and a structured criminal group” provided for by article 334, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code.
2. The Judicial Police is ordered to immediately send the person under investigation, Soni Pepa alias Vilson Pepa, to the detention facility, to remain there at the disposal of the proceeding body.
3. The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime, and the judicial police are ordered to implement this decision.
