A 22-year-old Albanian man was arrested on Thursday morning near Gatwick Airport as part of a national operation by the United Kingdom's National Crime Agency (NCA), focused on the fight against people trafficking networks to the United Kingdom.
The NCA operation aims to crack down on criminal networks involved in the trafficking of Albanian citizens across the English Channel and the use of large transport vehicles, such as trucks, to evade border controls.
Sara-Jayne Moore, commander of the NCA branch leading this operation, highlighted the agency's commitment to the fight against organised immigration crime:
"The NCA will leave no stone unturned at every stage of this criminal network, resolutely pursuing and arresting the perpetrators of human trafficking," she stated.
This arrest is a significant step in efforts to disrupt and disrupt criminal networks that facilitate illegal migration and to protect the UK's border security. Investigations continue, as British authorities and international partners intensify cooperation to combat people trafficking and organised crime in this area.
