Qerret, one of the most popular coastal areas of Kavaja, is rapidly turning into a concrete-covered area. Excavators and cranes have become a common sight, while building construction continues uninterrupted throughout the year.
If you look at Google Maps, the area appears as a green field with a few scattered resorts. But the reality on the ground is quite different. A drone video provided by VNA shows a panorama filled with palaces that have "blossomed" one after another, and with many other constructions that are in progress. Simply put, the view seems to compete with that of Tirana.
Residents of the area have raised serious concerns, emphasizing that at the height of the tourist season, Qerret has turned into a real construction site, without any institutional control.
According to them, the works take place at all hours of the day, even in the early hours of the morning, violating every legal norm and disturbing the peace of vacationers and local residents.
