The Special Court will decide today on Ilir Meta's request for the replacement of the security measure. The former president is seeking release from prison, also in exchange for alternative measures, such as a ban on leaving the country or an obligation to report.
Meta is accused of corruption, money laundering and concealment of assets, along with his ex-wife and three other people. The leader of the Freedom Party has been in custody since October 21, 2024.
