At the entrance to the city of Librazhd, IKMT continued today the intervention to free up the necessary space for the public project of the construction of the road segment Dalje Elbasan – Prrenjas – Qafë-Thane. Since Tuesday of last week, IKMT has started the demolition of several buildings located along the axis, but tensions between the authorities and the owners of the buildings have increased significantly.
The owner of one of the businesses to be demolished stated that he has vacated the building since November 17, 2025, but refuses to allow the demolition to continue as he has not received payment for compensation for the building.
"We are objecting to the money, not the facility. We have not received payment and the value we have been offered is much lower than the real value. The expropriation process does not reflect the economic damage being caused to us," he said.
Meanwhile, Librazhd's chief commissioner, Nertila Meta, addressed the owners, calling on them not to obstruct IKMT employees and warned that any legal opposition will be punished.
Meanwhile, the situation on the ground remains tense, while IKMT is expected to continue demolitions according to the approved works plan, to guarantee the realization of the major public project.
