After about 15 hours of intense siege by RENEA forces and police, the two suspects Julian Cumrraku and Arben Uka surrendered themselves this evening. The surrender came after continuous calls from their families, who intervened to convince the relatives to surrender without resistance.
During the surrender process, it was determined that Hamzah Uka was wounded in the leg. The circumstances of his injury remain unclear and it is expected that the authorities will provide further clarification.
The two suspects were hiding in an abandoned apartment in the Oroshi area, where they were initially spotted by the Puka police at around 06:00 in the morning. Due to suspicions that they were heavily armed and linked to a terrorist group, RENEA special forces were immediately deployed in support.
After their surrender, RENEA forces are expected to enter the apartment with specialized dogs to check for explosives and any other suspicious materials that may be hidden in the abandoned premises.
