The Special Prosecution Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has completed the investigation into the former mayor of Kavaja, Elvis Rroshi. Meanwhile, judge Rudina Palloj has been assigned to review the prosecution's request regarding whether or not to proceed with the case for trial.
Rroshi has been charged with the criminal offense of "abuse of office." The investigation against him began after a report filed by the Supreme State Audit Office, which identified irregularities in tenders during the period when Rroshi headed the Municipality of Kavaja.
A few days after Rroshi's appearance at SPAK, where he signed the closure of the investigations, prosecutor Elvin Gokaj filed a request with the Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime to move the case to trial.
Now, Judge Rudina Palloj will review the prosecution's request to decide whether the case against the former mayor of Kavaja will proceed to trial.
