
The opposition protest that will take place on Tuesday, February 10, "paralyzes" Tirana. Police announce that roadblocks will begin at midnight on Monday, in order to guarantee the smooth running of the rally.
"In implementation of these measures, today and tomorrow, movement will be limited on several road axes/segments, specifically:
-From 23:45 today, traffic will be blocked and no parking of vehicles will be allowed until the end of the rally, on the "Martyrs of the Nation" boulevard, from the place called "Ura e Dajtit" to "Ismail Qemali" street;
-From 3:00 PM until the end of the rally, there will be a traffic jam on "Dëshmorët e Kombit" Boulevard, from the intersection near the Ministry of Interior to "Mother Teresa" Square, as well as on "Ukraine e Lirë", "Papa John Paul II" and "Ismail Qemali" streets," the police announced.
According to the Tirana Police, depending on the development of the rally, there may be restrictions on vehicle traffic on other road axes.
"In the event of a blockage, to help citizens who will be circulating on these axes, Tirana Police has taken measures to divert vehicle traffic to alternative routes.
"The Tirana Police calls on citizens to distance themselves if they encounter illegal actions that violate public order and security," the announcement states.
