Journalist Klodiana Lala commented in the News24 studio on Altin Ndoc's escape from the Durrës regional hospital, raising serious doubts that the event was not accidental, but long-planned.
According to her, Ndoci had been thinking about escaping since the moment he was placed in Durrës detention center, a facility where, according to Lala, he should not have been placed due to the high risk.
"I think there were collaborators outside who helped him move, and I also suspect collaborators or informants within the system," she said.
The journalist harshly criticized the way institutions reacted after the escape, saying that in a normal country with a functional police force, all security capacities would have been immediately put into motion.
According to her, specialized dogs should have been deployed, drones and helicopters should have been deployed for aerial tracking, and the community should have been informed about the dangerous person who was on the run.
