The Special Court against Corruption and Organized Crime (SCOC) has ordered the security measure "house arrest" for Irakli Leka, arrested on September 16 by order of SPAK for the criminal offense of "passive corruption of persons exercising public functions". He was caught red-handed receiving money in exchange for granting a temporary permit to a convicted person.
The decision was given this Friday by the GJKKO judge, Bib Ndreca.
Irakli Leka, an employee at Lushnja Prison, was denounced by the investigative show "Stop" after he was filmed receiving 700 euros in exchange for a five-day leave for a prisoner.
After the footage was broadcast, the Prisons Directorate announced that Leka's arrest was carried out in cooperation with SPAK.
