Special Judge Irena Gjoka has filed a request to withdraw from the consideration of the criminal case against Ilir Meta, but her request was rejected by the President of the Special Court, Erion Bani.
The news was announced by Meta's lawyer, Kujtim Cakrani. Meanwhile, the GJKKO has convened to make the decision.
Former President Meta himself was absent from the session, while the defense insisted that the procedure against him is politically motivated.
