After 40 days in prison, Alti Nallbati, brother of Democratic MP Bledjon Nallbati, as well as Marsel Bucci and Trajan Çeliku, have left Drenova prison, after the court changed the security measure from "prison arrest" to "house arrest".
The three suspects are accused of having forcibly taken and raped 32-year-old Ilir Topçiu, holding him hostage for several hours in a warehouse, in Bilisht, more than a month ago.
The event shocked public opinion and led to the dismissal of the Director of the District Police, Erion Ahmeti, as well as the suspension of the Deputy Director for Criminal Investigation at the Korça Police Department, Hajri Kushe.
Alti Nallbati and Trajan Çeliku are accused of “illegal deprivation of liberty” and “threatening”, while Marsel Bucci is also accused of “intentional minor injury”. Investigations into the case continue.
