The video denouncing 69-year-old Jorgo Hatia, who broke house arrest while dressed as a woman, was filmed by his nephew's wife.
The cause of this entire situation in the village of Strum, Toskovec, is a conflict, which, more than the actions of the 69-year-old, has come about as a result of the negligence of state structures, which has also led to the isolation of the two brothers in conflict.
Jorgo Hatia had been denounced several times to state structures by his brother, Riza Hatia, for building a toilet over a drainage canal.
The conflict has repeatedly escalated into violence and accusations, while those who should have resolved it remained silent until the quarrel between the brothers reached major proportions.
Riza Hatia says that the conflict with his brother reached this point because state structures did not do their job.
"They filed a complaint with the Roskovec Police, three days later the mortgage officer at the municipality, Soni Kosaçi, came and took no action. Action was taken only after three months. If he had intervened when I filed the complaint, we wouldn't be going through a year and a half of suffering today," says Jorgo Hatia.
The daughter-in-law of Jorgo Hatia's nephew, also known as Mehmet, says that she was forced to make the video showing her husband's uncle dressed as a woman breaking house arrest because she wanted to protect her family.
"If people knew my problem, I believe they would call me a spy. When he puts my husband in prison, when he puts my father-in-law in prison, rapes my mother-in-law and wants to penalize my family, then what can I do?" says Klarisa Hatia.
The Hatia family appeals to high-ranking state structures not to neglect such conflicts, as if they had intervened in time, the situation would not have reached this point, where the families of the two brothers live amidst violence and daily threats./shqiptarja.com
