During the hearing where she was briefed on the security measures, Belinda Balluku requested that the GJKKO refer the case to the Constitutional Court for interpretation. In her testimony before the court, Balluku stated that there is no risk of her escaping since the defendant has traveled abroad 3 times since she was arrested and has returned.
She has stated that she communicates with her subordinates in the function of the duty which she states that she has performed in accordance with the law. Despite the claims, the GJKKO left in force the measures of suspension from duty of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Infrastructure and Energy as well as a ban on leaving the country. For her subordinates Gentian Gjyli and Erald Elezi, the measure of house arrest was left in force.
