Deputy Prime Minister Belinda Balluku files an appeal with the Supreme Court and requests the annulment of the decision of the Special Appeals Court that left in force the security measure "ban on leaving the country" for her.
The Minister of Infrastructure and Energy has not raised any claims regarding the measure of suspension from exercising her functions, as the Special Appeal said that it will express its opinion regarding the prohibitory measure after being informed of the decision of the Constitutional Court.
The latter has not yet issued a decision regarding the request of the Prime Minister, who claims that the suspension of a member of the government cabinet is unconstitutional. The Constitutional Court's decision is expected to be announced early next week.
Belinda Balluku is a defendant by SPAK for the tender for the construction of the Llogara tunnel, while under investigation for other tenders worth millions of euros. SPAK has requested permission from the Assembly for her arrest, but the Council of Mandates and Immunities also decided to postpone the meeting until the Constitutional Court expresses its opinion on the matter.
