Mirlinda Karçanaj admitted to investigators that she had several meetings with citizen Ergys Agasi in the latter's office, but categorically denied that she favored him or citizen Ermal Beqiri in the tender procedures.
In her statement, Karçanaj emphasized that she does not associate or maintain social relations with economic operators outside the official environment. "I neither drink coffee nor do I sit or socialize with any economic operator outside the office," she said.
However, Karçanaj admits that there was a case where she met an economic operator by chance in the office of an acquaintance of hers, specifically in the office of citizen Ergys Agasi. According to her, the meeting took place due to a private consultancy, while adding that she has long known Agasi and that she has met him several times in his office for private matters.
The statement states that during one of these meetings, Agasi asked for his opinion on a technical solution within the framework of a partnership he intended to create with an Israeli company. Karçanaj explains that citizen Ermal Beqiri was also present in the same environment, whom he describes as being present at that meeting by chance.
She also confessed that she may have met Agas several times due to the friendly relationship she has with him. As for Beqiri, Karçanaj says that, apart from that meeting which she considers casual, she has only met him at the AKSHI premises, in order to carry out her work.
Despite these meetings, Karçanaj denies that he favored Agas or Beqiri in tenders. However, the fact that the meetings took place in Ergys Agas's office raises questions, especially in a context where, according to the investigation, tender prices were also discussed in these premises.
