
The Special Court rejects Belinda Balluku's request and leaves in force the measure of suspension from exercising her functions.
Balluku claimed the measure was repealed with the argument that it has been repealed since she is no longer in office as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure.
Balluku is being investigated for fixing road tenders.

The applicant (defendant) Belinda Balluku on 13.03.2026 filed with the Court the request with the subject: "Immediate revocation of the personal security measure of a prohibitive nature "Suspension of the exercise of a public duty or service" (suspension from duty with high state functions as Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Albania and Minister of Infrastructure and Energy)", imposed on the applicant by Decision No. 118, dated 19.11.2025 of the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime; Determination of the termination/cancellation of this personal security measure of a prohibitive nature.".
2. At the end of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and Organized Crime, with a panel composed of Judge Erjon Çela, based on Articles 112, 260/1, 262/2 and 267 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with decision no. 229 dated 13.03.2026, decided:
1. Dismissal of the request of the applicant (defendant) Belinda Balluku.
2. An appeal may be filed against this decision within 5 (five) days at the Special Court of Appeal for Corruption and Organized Crime, a deadline which begins from the day of notification of the court's decision.
