
The GJKKO rejects Ilir Meta's request and leaves the prison arrest measure in effect.
During the hearing, sources confirm that SPAK claimed that if Meta is released, it will influence the intimidation of witnesses and thus could damage the underlying process. The former president is being sued by SPAK on serious charges and is expected to begin his battle with justice this fall.

request with the subject: "Replacement of the personal security measure of "prison arrest" for
citizen Ilir Metaj, charged with the criminal offenses of "Passive corruption of persons who
exercising public functions”, “Forgery of seals, stamps or forms”, “Laundering
of the proceeds of crime"

2. At the conclusion of the trial, the Special Court of First Instance for Corruption and
Organized Crime with a panel composed of judge Erjon Çela, based on articles
112 and 260/2 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, with decision No. 546, dated 13.08.2025, decided:

This decision may be appealed within 5 (five) days to the Court of Appeal.
Special Appeals for Corruption and Organized Crime, deadline which begins
from the date of notification of the court decision.
