The repentant Erjon Alibej is continuing his testimony at the GJKKO, answering questions from the defendants' lawyers and specifically focusing on the murder of Regis Runaj, a crime that occurred a few days after the execution of Emiljano Ramazan.
"I knew Regis Runaj as an informant for the Çopja brothers, Mikael Qoses, the people who had killed my family members. I gave the order for Runaj's execution. I spoke about this with Nuredin Duman and he told me, tell me and we'll finish it," said Alibej. He said that Xhuljano Hoxha had told him "try to do it with a knife, so as not to make too much noise."
"They were also friends and I didn't want to make a fuss, so I did it. Xhuljano agreed to do it directly. I met Xhuljano the next day. As I recall, he was also his close friend. I met him after he left the police station. He told me how the execution had happened," said Alibej.
"Xhuljano told me that when we questioned him, Regis' sister was also there. She had approached him and said, "You have my condolences from Mikael." She had said, "Tell me how much money you want, just talk about Erion," he said.
The repentant man then confessed how Xhuljano Hoxha had committed the crime.
"Xhuljano told me that he had taken the car to a garage near the cemetery. Then he put on a pair of overalls and after going through some thorns. He waited for Regis, because he knew he would come. Then, when Regis arrived, he told me that he had killed him with a knife. My brain went out, he told me, it felt like I was shooting Mikael Qose". For the murder of Runaj - said Alibey had promised Xhuljano 30 thousand euros.
"I gave him a piece of it. When he was arrested, I gave his wife 25 thousand euros. Xhuljano Hoxha always spent time with Eugen Halili," he said.
After Xhuljano Hoxha's arrest, Alibej said he had found a lawyer for him from Vlora, as he was afraid he would not speak. "I was worried that he would not speak to the justice system, because he was exerting that pressure," he stressed.
