Albanian police have launched investigations into the death of Miklovan Danaj, also known as Keli, after his lifeless body was found on the coast of Marbella, Spain, on August 24 of this year.
According to Spanish authorities, Danaj is suspected of being murdered, with two Albanian identification documents found near his body. Investigations in Spain have focused mainly on drug dealing, suggesting that the murder may be linked to international criminal activity.
Meanwhile, the Albanian police have also undertaken investigative actions in the country, including questioning Danaj's family members, as well as verification of any information they may have on his activities abroad.
Sources close to investigators indicate that verifications are also being carried out in several European countries, including Italy and the Netherlands, where Danaj is suspected of having had contacts or activities.
A disturbing detail came to light a few weeks before the death was confirmed: Danaj's family received a telegram informing them of his death and at the same time asking them not to look for him anymore.
Investigations are continuing in close cooperation between Albanian and Spanish authorities.
