The testimony of the money changer Xhemal Lici, who was attacked and robbed by Nuredin Dumani, now a penitent of justice, has been made public. Before the jury, Lici described the moments of the incident, which occurred in the early hours of the morning in the "Kala" neighborhood of Elbasan.
He said that at around 06:30, he had just left his apartment and had put a bag containing 12 million old lek in the vehicle when he was confronted by four people. According to his testimony, one of the perpetrators hit him, taking the money.
"I left my house in the Kala neighborhood in Elbasan at 6:30. I went out, I didn't think they were going to shoot me. I went out and put the money in the car. I had 12 million new lek with me. I had the money in a bag. I left the money in the trunk and went back to close the door of the house. Then I saw that there were 4 of them. One of them shot me, 2 times in the chest and 2 times in the leg," he said.
Lici said that after the robbery, Bujar Çela, the brother of the much-wanted Talo Çela, had visited his business several times, asking him if he had identified the perpetrators.
"He worked as a taxi driver illegally. He would make 20-30 euros. When there were no people there, he would ask. I told him, you don't feel sorry for me. It looks like you have a fly in your hat. You've come this far, I don't want to see you in the store again."
Kambisti added that he did not know Talo Çela personally, but had seen him in the media. According to him, a year before the incident he had seen a television interview and had recognized Çela from his physical size, connecting him to one of the people involved in the robbery. “He was behind Dumani during the attack,” Lici declared before the court.
