Residents of the Rrjoll area have once again protested against the construction of a tourist resort on their lands by the Gener 2 company, claiming that their properties are being taken unfairly.
For about six weeks, residents have been continuing their opposition through successive protests, while earlier they also protested in front of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime, demanding that the institution consider their file.
Tensions and clashes with the police were recorded during the latest protest. Some of the protesters accused the officers of using violence and claimed that some residents were escorted to the police station.
Despite the situation, residents are determined to continue their protests every day until the construction work for the resort, which they say violates private property and the environment of the area, is stopped.
One of the residents present at the protest stated that some of the young people who participated were raped inside the police vans and requested the intervention of the Special Structure Against Corruption and Organized Crime to investigate the matter. She also accused the Shkodra Prosecution Office of inaction on the file filed by the residents.
"We will continue the protest until the end. We demand that this matter be investigated and that the residents' properties not be violated," she said, calling for justice institutions to intervene as soon as possible to clarify the allegations of forgery and guarantee justice for the residents of the area.
