A day after SPAK officially took the file against Mayor Erion Veliaj, his wife, Ajola Xoxa, and several important businessmen in the country to Court, his fate is already known. But in parallel with SPAK, this was confirmed today by the leader of the Socialist Party Edi Rama during the Assembly with the announcement of Ogerta Manastiriliu for the Municipality of Tirana.

Journalist Klodiana Lala has revealed other important details from the investigation into the former mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, his wife Ajola Xoxa, and a large group of associates, including well-known businessmen and former officials.
Invited to the show "The Unexposed" on MCN TV, Lala confirmed that the investigations have been completed and that Veliaj faces 13 charges, more than any other person in the file. Among the most serious charges is that of "abuse of office", in connection with a construction permit for a multi-storey building, where, according to SPAK, Ajola Xoxa has direct interests.
"There are 30 defendants and 12 companies. There are many associates and family members of Mrs. Xoxa among the defendants. The new charge against Veliaj is related to the issuance of a construction permit in which his wife has an interest," Lala said.
According to SPAK investigators, the Veliaj-Xoxa couple is suspected of having benefited from large funds, which were channeled through companies and NGOs controlled by Ms. Xoxa. Also, the company "Rametal" of businessman Elman Abule is mentioned as part of the suspected money laundering scheme and large cash circulation.
Former MP Klotilda Bushka is also included in the list of defendants.
On the other hand, Veliaj has denied all the accusations, through his lawyers, stating that there is no concrete evidence against him, that he was mistreated while being escorted to the hospital, and that he was not allowed to meet with international lawyers.
The case will be reviewed by Judge Etleva Deda, a name with experience in the justice system since the time of Serious Crimes.
