United States President Donald Trump has issued another strong threat to Iran as his deadline for opening the Strait of Hormuz approaches.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump warned of dire consequences, using dramatic language.
"An entire civilization will die tonight, never to return," he wrote at the beginning of the message.
However, the American president added that he does not want such a scenario to happen, although according to him this possibility remains real.
“I don’t want this to happen, but maybe it will. However, now that we have a complete and total regime change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds will prevail, maybe something revolutionaryly wonderful could happen,” Trump wrote.
He concluded the message by emphasizing that the developments of the coming hours could be historic.
"Who knows? We'll find out tonight. This is one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the world. 47 years of extortion, corruption and death will finally come to an end. God bless the great people of Iran," Trump concluded.
