In the parliamentary elections taking place today in Hungary, official data show a significant increase in turnout in the first hours of voting.
According to reports, as of 09:00, turnout reached 16.89%, a significantly higher level compared to previous elections:
2010: 10.23%
2014: 9.50%
2018: 13.17%
2022: 10.31%

This strong increase in voter mobilization is being interpreted by political analysts as an indication of a more competitive race than usual. Historically, high turnout in the early hours of voting in Hungary has often been associated with a more motivated electorate for change. In this context, some polls and preliminary estimates suggest that the increase in participation could pose a challenge to the current prime minister, Viktor Orbán, who has dominated the Hungarian political scene for more than a decade.
However, experts emphasize that it is still too early to draw conclusions about the final result, as the dynamics of participation throughout the day and the regional distribution of the vote remain key factors in determining the winner.
Preliminary results are expected to be published after the voting process closes later in the day.
